Pokhara Tour

Pokhara is one of the most popular places to visit in Nepal, and for some very good reasons. The views of the mountains are outstanding, the weather is especially pleasant and the beautiful blue waters of Phewa Lake are irresistible. There are exciting waterfalls, ancient temples, and boating excursions and, of course, constant views of the snowcapped peaks of the highest mountains in the world.

This is a short, five day trip which includes a little trekking, a lot of sightseeing and a great place to relax and enjoy all of the beauty of nature.  It is a great way to enjoy much if you have a very limited amount of time.

DAY 1 – Arrival in Kathmandu, transfer to Hotel
DAY 2 – Early Morning Flight to Pokhara
DAY 3 – Full Day of Sightseeing
DAY 4 – Fly back to Kathmandu
DAY 5 – Departure

DAY 1 – Arrival: Arrive in Kathmandu where you will be met by your representative of Swiss Nepal Family Trekking & Expedition. You will be taken to your hotel where you can relax before your evening meal. There will be an orientation session in the evening. If time allows, we will take a trip to Swayambhu, one of the seven UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the Kathmandu Valley which offers an incredible view of the Valley as well as the oldest religious site in the city.

DAY 2 – Fly to Pokhara: It is just a 35 minute flight to Pokhara, but what a flight! We skim along the backbone of the mighty Himalayas for incredible views of all of the snowcapped peaks between Kathmandu and Pokhara. We will arrive in Pokhara and check into our Three Star Hotel. From here, it is a boating trip on beautiful Phewa Lake. There are Hindu temples and Buddhist monasteries to visit during the day. Dinner on your own at Lakeside, with lodging at our Three Star Hotel.

DAY 3 – Sarangkot: We will get up early to go by private vehicle to the lookout point on Sarangkot Hill for an outstanding view of sunrise over the Himalayas. We will have breakfast, and from there do a short trek in the Sarangkot area where we will enjoy more great views. Around 11 am, we will travel back to Pokhara to visit Devi Falls which thunders over the edge and into a gorge before disappearing underground. After lunch, we will take a journey to nearby Begnas and Rupa Lake for some more outstanding mountain views. Our journey will also take in the Tibetan Refugee camp as well as a museum. We will spend the night at our Three Star Hotel.

DAY 4 – Sightseeing and Return to Kathmandu: We will finish our tour of Pokhara in the morning, and then take a flight later to Kathmandu. This day, we will visit Mahendra Gufa and Chamero Gufa, two very interesting caves which have great religious meaning for the people of this area. We will visit some nearby temples and monasteries, plus have a last minute opportunity to do some final shopping in Lakeside area. We will fly in the afternoon to Kathmandu and check back into our Three Star Hotel. In the evening enjoy a farewell dinner with local cultural show.

Day 5 – Departure: All good things must come to an end, and this short trip is no exception. Your representative at Swiss Nepal Family Trekking & Expedition will escort you by private vehicle to the airport to see you off to your next destination.
