Kali Gandaki Koshi Rafting Trip

Three Days/Two Nights at Rivercamp

One of the newest rafting areas is on the Kali Gandaki River. This is an entirely new area located west of the beautiful lakeside city of Pokhara where your rafting takes you not only through incredible whitewater experiences, but also past fascinating villages, pristine jungles along with sandy beaches and great fishing and swimming opportunities.

This river has been growing in popularity since it was first recently opened to rafters and kayakers. The river, besides offering incredible scenery, has plenty of challenges as there are great rapids and technical bounces through terrific gorges. This river can be conquered by both professional as well as amateurs in the area of white water rafting.

We put in at the confluence of the Modi Khola and take out at Mirmi where there is a hydro-power plant on the Kali Gandaki River. The trip combines thrills with local cultural experiences.

Swiss Nepal Family Trekking & Expedition is pleased to be able to offer this incredibly new river experience to its clients. Many are raving about how wonderful the Kali Gandaki River experience truly is. Come and experience it for yourself!

DAY 1 – Drive to Starting Point from Kathmandu
DAY 2 – Rafting on the Kali Gandaki River
DAY 3 – Drive from rafting end point to Pokhara

DAY 1: Drive from Pokhara to Nayapul and then take a short trek to the Modi Khola (river.) It is a four hour drive to Nayapul and then only a short trek to the confluence of the Modi Khola and Kali Gandaki. The trip is spectacular with incredible views of the snowcapped peaks of the Annapurna Range. We find our camp on the Modi Khola, and spend the night in camp with a wonderful dinner cooked over an open fire as we hear the river raging behind us.

DAY 2: The adventure begins today as we put in on the Kali Gandaki and make our way downstream. Besides incredible scenery, we will experience some exciting as well as challenging rapids. There is plenty of adventure today until we finally reach our destination of Purtighat where we will spend the night.

DAY 3: It is a short rafting day as we reach our destination of Mirmi and then drive to Pokhara. Along the way we will pass Setibini, a holy place where we will see Asia's biggest rock. This rock is worshipped as a god by the Hindus and is considered a sacred site. There are many fast rapids today to make this day quite memorable. From Mirmi, we drive to Pokhara to stay at our hotel.
