Buddhist Pilgrimage to Buddha's Birthplace

It was on a dark jungle night that The Buddha was born nearly 2500 years ago. The place was in the midst of the jungle when his mother Maya Devi took a bath in the sacred pond before giving birth. The year was 623 BC. Since then this sacred place has become a place of pilgrimage for Buddhists as well as others from around the world. The King Asoka set up a pillar marking the spot and today there is the Maya Devi Temple that houses the sacred site where you can see a footprint of the baby as he made seven steps right after birth.

Lumbini is an incredible place and this tour will take you there to see all of the impressive monasteries as well as the museum that explains the history of this important sacred place. Lumbini is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.  There is also an important research center there on Buddhism.

This is a great trip for Buddhists seeking a pilgrimage. In addition, it is also a great place for anyone who wants to enjoy the unique sense of spirituality and teachings that Buddha brought into the world.
